Trade through Benapole land port resumed on Friday (April 5) following an eight-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr and the weekly holidays. Import and export activities between Bangladesh and India began again this morning.
However, during the holiday period, the movement of passport-holding passengers through the immigration checkpoint between the two countries remained normal.
Alhaj Mohosin Milon, President of the Benapole Export-Import Club, confirmed the resumption of trade today.
According to customs sources, the government has lost approximately Tk 120 crore in revenue income due to the eight-day suspension of export activities.
