Fuel prices in Bangladesh have been revised once again, with the government announcing a reduction in the prices of diesel, octane, and petrol, while increasing the price of kerosene.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources on Saturday (May 31), the new prices will come into effect from tomorrow (June 1).
As per the latest adjustment:
The price of diesel has been reduced by Tk 2, bringing it down to Tk 102 per litre (from Tk 104).
Petrol price has been reduced by Tk 3 to Tk 118 per litre (from Tk 121).
Octane now costs Tk 122 per litre, down by Tk 3 (from Tk 125).
In contrast, the price of kerosene has been increased by Tk 10 to Tk 114 per litre (from Tk 104).
Earlier in May, the price of diesel and kerosene was cut by Tk 1 to Tk 104 per litre, while octane and petrol saw a reduction of Tk 1 as well.
Fuel prices remained unchanged during March and April. In February, all four fuel types—petrol, octane, diesel, and kerosene—were increased by Tk 1 per litre.
Since March 2024, the government has implemented an automated monthly pricing mechanism for fuel, aligning domestic prices with the international market.
