
Bangladesh has recorded two more deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, according to a health bulletin released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday (June 17).
During the same period, 18 new coronavirus cases were detected after testing 312 samples.
With these latest figures, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 2,051,876. The total death toll now stands at 29,506 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Bangladesh reported its first COVID-19 cases on March 8, 2020. The first death from the virus was confirmed on March 18 of the same year.
Health authorities continue to monitor the situation, although infection and death rates remain relatively low compared to the peak of the pandemic.
