Sylhet Battles Twin Threat of COVID-19 and Dengue

The outbreak of dengue is rising alongside coronavirus in Sylhet. In the last 24 hours up to Saturday, three new dengue cases have been detected in the division.
With these new cases, a total of 33 dengue patients have been diagnosed in Sylhet Division so far this year. Among them, eight are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals across the division.
According to the Sylhet Divisional Health Department, 14 of the total dengue cases were reported in June alone. Among the four districts of the division, Habiganj has recorded the highest number of dengue cases.
Meanwhile, a 69-year-old person has died from coronavirus in Sylhet.
In the past 24 hours, 22 people were tested for COVID-19 in the division, but no new cases were detected.
