COVID-19: 3 Out of 4 Tested Positive in a Single Day, No New Deaths Reported

Three new COVID-19 cases were detected in the past 24 hours from only four samples tested, indicating a positivity rate of 75 percent, according to a press release issued Sunday (June 8) by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). All newly infected patients are residents of Dhaka. No deaths from COVID-19 were reported during this period. The last fatality occurred on June 5, breaking a lengthy period without any virus-related deaths. With the latest cases, the total number of confirmed coronavirus tests conducted in the country stands at 15,726,237. Meanwhile, six more patients recovered from the illness in the past day, raising the total number of recoveries to 2,019,363. Since the outbreak began, Bangladesh has reported a total of 29,500 deaths linked to the virus.
