
Dhaka, August 24, 2025 — The Department of Architecture at North South University (NSU) proudly inaugurated the 17th Architectural Exhibition 2025, an academic showcase featuring creative works by students of Level 1, Term 1.
The exhibition will run from August 24 to 27, open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the NSU Exhibition Hall.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Mr. Benajir Ahmed, Member of the Board of Trustees and Former Chairman of NSU; Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of NSU; Ms. Halen Nasreen; Dr. Abdul Khaleque, Proctor of NSU; and Mr. Nagaishi Yasuaki, Executive Vice President of OISCA-International, who were present as distinguished guests. The event was also attended by faculty members of the Department of Architecture, with Ar. Shahriar Iqbal Raj, Chair of the Department, warmly welcoming the guests and introducing the students and studio instructors.
This year’s exhibition features a curated selection of projects from the ARC 111 course, representing students’ first academic explorations in architecture. The works highlight conceptual development, creative interpretation, and design thinking—demonstrating the analytical and imaginative abilities of NSU’s budding architects.
In a moment of pride for the department, a standout student project received special commendation from Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, who remarked:
“These students demonstrate truly creative and innovative ideas — among the most visionary concepts within the department. They think in new ways; their minds work like algorithmic puzzles.”
Former Chairman Mr. Benajir Ahmed also praised the students’ innovative approach, stating:
“The innovative ideas made a real difference. I was genuinely impressed by the exhibition and the creativity it showcased.”
Mr. Nagaishi Yasuaki, Executive Vice President of OISCA-International, shared his impressions:
“This is my first visit to an architectural exhibition, and I am deeply impressed by the remarkable progress and creativity shown by these young students.”
Speaking on behalf of the faculty, the Department Chair noted: “This exhibition is a testament to the foundational design skills and creative potential of our students. It not only celebrates their accomplishments but also reaffirms the university’s commitment to cultivating architectural excellence from the very beginning of their academic journey.”
The exhibition features contributions from students under the guidance of esteemed faculty members, including Ar. Mujtaba Ahsan (Associate Professor), Ar. Aida Hassan (Lecturer), and Ar. AKM Saleh Ahmed Anik (Lecturer), Nabil Shahidi, Senior Lecturer (Part Time Faculty),
Redwan Shahidullah Bashar, Senior Lecturer (Part Time Faculty), Eshana Nur Masud, Lecturer (Part Time Faculty) and Anusha Alamgir Lecturer (Part Time Faculty).
