Dhaka, May 5, 2026: Today, May 5, marks the 7th death anniversary of the valiant freedom fighter and distinguished academic, Munshi Abdul Wadud.
A revered figure in the field of education, Wadud was a former teacher at Kushtia Government College. He passed away on this day in 2019 while receiving treatment at a hospital in Dhaka.
On this occasion, his family, former students, and well-wishers are observing the day with prayers and remembrance, seeking eternal peace for his departed soul.
A Distinguished Career in Academics
Munshi Abdul Wadud dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge and the mentorship of thousands of students. During his professional career, he served with distinction as an Assistant Professor at several renowned institutions, including:

His expertise was also sought at the national level, where he served as a question setter for various education boards and held the position of Head Examiner for BA examinations under the National University.
Family and Legacy
Professor Wadud left behind a grieving family including his wife, two sons, and a daughter. His eldest son, Munshi Firoz Al Mamun, is a well-known journalist currently serving as a Special Correspondent for The Just Energy News. He was formerly the Chief Reporter and Online In-charge at the Daily Sun.
State Honors and Final Rest
In recognition of his immense contribution to the nation during the Liberation War, Munshi Abdul Wadud was laid to rest with full state honors. His grave is located in his ancestral village of Char Moukuri, Sarutia Union, under the Shailakupa Upazila of Jhenaidah.
