Trump Proposes Gaza Takeover, Palestinian Resettlement

U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested that the United States could "take over" Gaza, proposing an economic redevelopment plan to transform the Palestinian territory into "the Riviera of the Middle East."
Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Trump outlined his vision for Gaza’s reconstruction, including the removal of unexploded bombs and infrastructure development.
As part of the proposal, Trump suggested resettling Palestinians outside of Gaza while the reconstruction takes place. However, this idea has faced strong opposition from Middle Eastern nations, which have previously rejected such plans.
Netanyahu, the first foreign leader to visit the U.S. president in his second term, described Trump’s proposal as "an idea worth paying attention to."
The two leaders have maintained a close alliance, with Netanyahu praising Trump as "the greatest friend Israel has ever had."
During the conference, Trump also reiterated his stance against Iran’s nuclear ambitions, declaring that Tehran "cannot have a nuclear weapon" and warning against any attempts to develop atomic bombs.
Trump and Netanyahu’s alliance was notably strong during the former’s first term, highlighted by the controversial relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, a move widely condemned by Palestinians.
