President Donald Trump has introduced a new fast-track visa programme aimed at wealthy foreign nationals willing to pay at least $1 million. Announcing the initiative on social media, Trump said the Gold Card would offer a “direct pathway to citizenship” for qualified and vetted applicants, helping American companies retain top international talent.
Originally previewed earlier this year, the Trump Gold Card is described as a visa for individuals who can demonstrate a “substantial benefit” to the United States, according to the programme’s official website.
The launch comes amid tougher US immigration measures, including higher work visa fees and increased deportations of undocumented migrants. According to the programme’s website, the $1 million fee will serve as proof of the applicant’s potential benefit to the country, while the scheme promises residency approval in “record time.”
