Trump Labels Ukraine ‘Ungrateful’ Amid Ongoing Peace Talks
US President Donald Trump has criticised Ukraine’s leadership, claiming they have shown “zero gratitude” for American efforts aimed at ending the conflict.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky indicated that there is an understanding that any US-backed peace plan would take Ukraine’s national interests into account.
In Geneva, negotiations continue between representatives from the US, Ukraine, and several European allies as they work to finalise a potential agreement.
Trump has previously accused Ukraine of being ungrateful, though Zelensky has made repeated efforts to publicly express thanks since their confrontation at the White House.
European officials have expressed concerns over the proposed 28-point plan, which is widely viewed as leaning in Russia’s favour. Key elements of the proposal are currently under scrutiny.
Following Trump’s comments, the US delegation has remained tight-lipped, and sources on the ground in Geneva say the cautious optimism surrounding the talks has noticeably diminished.
