Russia and Ukraine Exchange Strikes Following Putin-Trump Call

Russia and Ukraine launched fresh air attacks on each other's infrastructure just hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed Moscow would stop targeting Ukraine’s energy sector.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of striking civilian sites, including a hospital in Sumy, while officials in Russia’s Krasnodar region reported a Ukrainian drone attack on an oil depot.
The governor of Belgorod, a Russian border region, described the security situation as "difficult" after an attempted Ukrainian ground assault was repelled.
Zelensky stated that Russia fired over 40 drones at Ukrainian infrastructure following the Putin-Trump call, effectively rejecting a full ceasefire.
Putin reportedly conditioned a truce on Ukraine’s allies halting military aid—an ultimatum previously dismissed by European nations.
Meanwhile, the Russian defense ministry claimed to have intercepted 57 Ukrainian drones, including 35 over the Kursk region.
Talks between the US and Russia on Ukraine are expected to continue, with further discussions set to take place in Saudi Arabia.
Amid ongoing hostilities, both sides continue to target key infrastructure, with Ukraine striking oil and gas facilities deep in Russian territory.
