Netanyahu Says Iran Regime ‘Could Change’ as Missiles Hit Israel, EU Urges Halt to Energy Strikes

Netanyahu Says Iran Regime ‘Could Change’ as Missiles Hit Israel, EU Urges Halt to Energy Strikes

Tensions in the Middle East escalated further after Iranian missile attacks struck northern Israel, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu заявил that the conflict could lead to a potential regime change in Iran and claimed Tehran has lost key military capabilities.

The developments come amid growing international concern, with the European Union calling for an immediate halt to attacks on critical infrastructure such as energy and water facilities.

    Missile Barrage Hits Northern Israel

Iran launched a fresh wave of ballistic missiles targeting Israeli territory, with some strikes impacting areas in the north, including near key industrial zones. Emergency alerts were triggered across multiple regions, and reports indicate casualties, with at least two people seriously injured.

Fragments of intercepted missiles were also reported in the Golan Heights, highlighting the intensity of the aerial exchanges as Israeli defence systems worked to neutralize incoming threats.

Netanyahu: Iran ‘Cannot Build Nuclear Weapons’

Speaking from Jerusalem, Netanyahu claimed that Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities have been significantly degraded.

According to him, Iran is no longer able to enrich uranium or manufacture ballistic missiles, asserting that Israeli operations have targeted not only weapons stockpiles but also the industrial infrastructure behind them. He added that ongoing strikes are aimed at completely dismantling these capabilities.

Netanyahu also suggested that the current pressure on Tehran could lead to internal political change, stating that the Iranian regime is now in a weakened position.

    Possibility of Regime Change Raised

In a notable shift in tone, Netanyahu indicated that continued military pressure might create conditions for political transformation inside Iran. His remarks come after high-level Iranian leadership figures were reportedly killed in earlier strikes, raising questions about the stability of the current власти in Tehran.

At the same time, voices from the Iranian opposition have echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that the ongoing crisis could open a window for change within the country.

Israel Holding Back on Energy Targets

Despite the escalation, Netanyahu said Israel has temporarily refrained from further strikes on energy infrastructure, describing the country as a “model ally.” He indicated that this restraint is partly in response to requests from Donald Trump, even as the broader military campaign continues.

He emphasized that the war would persist “as long as necessary,” but expressed confidence that it could conclude sooner than expected.

EU Calls for Moratorium on Energy Strikes

Amid fears of a widening economic crisis, the European Union has called for a moratorium on attacks targeting energy and water infrastructure across the region.

EU leaders stressed the need for de-escalation, protection of civilians, and adherence to international law. They warned that continued strikes on key facilities risk severe global consequences, particularly in energy markets already under strain.

The bloc is also considering strengthening naval operations to ensure safe passage through critical routes such as the Strait of Hormuz, a vital channel for global oil shipments.

    Rising Global Concerns

The latest developments underline the growing خطر of a prolonged regional conflict with global implications. As missile exchanges continue and diplomatic pressure mounts, the situation remains volatile, with both military escalation and economic disruption becoming increasingly intertwined.
