Jhenaidah Diabetic Hospital Aims to Be Leading Healthcare Provider

Jhenaidah Diabetic Association President Moazzem Hossain has vowed to transform Jhenaidah Diabetic Hospital into the region’s leading healthcare provider, offering quality treatment to the poor and disadvantaged.
In an interview, he emphasized that the hospital would soon be recognized as a top service-oriented institution, free from political influence and nepotism.
Hossain, who also serves as the President of the Jhenaidah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, revealed that the association’s office had previously been occupied by politically influenced individuals, neglecting the needs of underprivileged patients.
Under the new leadership, he aims to eliminate favoritism and ensure fair and efficient healthcare services.
Currently operating with 50 beds, the hospital is set to expand to 100 beds to accommodate more patients in a comfortable and well-equipped environment.
However, he acknowledged significant challenges, including shortages of physicians, nurses, medical staff, medicines, and modern equipment.
Hossain also criticized private hospitals and diagnostic centers for overcharging patients, stating that many facilities demand two to three times the standard rates for medical tests and treatments.
He pledged to fight against these exploitative practices and ensure that patients receive fair and affordable healthcare.
Additionally, he revealed plans to establish a medical college and hospital in Jhenaidah to enhance healthcare services and medical education for students in the district and surrounding areas.
The initiative is currently in progress, and he remains committed to seeing it through.
