Dinajpur BNP Holds Memorial and Prayer Service for Social Welfare Minister’s Mother
DINAJPUR, Bangladesh — A solemn atmosphere of grief and remembrance filled the Dinajpur District BNP office on Jail Road on Monday evening (May 11, 2026) as party members gathered to honor the late Begum Jebunnesa.
She was the mother of Professor Dr. A.Z.M. Zahid Hossain, a member of the BNP National Standing Committee and the Minister of Social Welfare and Women & Children Affairs.
Begum Jebunnesa passed away on May 6, 2026, leaving a profound void in both political and social circles. Monday’s memorial featured Quran recitations, a Milad, and special supplications (Doa Mahfil) dedicated to seeking eternal peace for her soul.
A Gathering of Leadership and Remembrance
The event was presided over by Advocate Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, President of the Dinajpur District BNP, and coordinated by General Secretary Bakhtiar Ahmed Kochi. The gathering saw a significant turnout from various wings of the party, reflecting the deep respect held for the Minister’s family.

The memorial served as a poignant reminder of the irreplaceable role of a mother, with attendees describing the loss as the disappearance of a "sheltering sky".
