Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was reportedly injured during an Israeli airstrike last month, according to Iran’s Fars news agency, which is closely tied to the Revolutionary Guard.
The incident occurred on June 16, when six missiles allegedly hit a concealed underground site in northwestern Tehran. President Pezeshkian was attending an emergency session of the Supreme National Security Council at the time of the strike.
The attack reportedly destroyed all access routes, blocked ventilation systems, and knocked out power to the facility. Pezeshkian and other officials are said to have escaped through an emergency tunnel, with the president sustaining injuries to his leg.
Sources suggest Israeli intelligence may have had prior knowledge of the meeting, prompting Iran to investigate possible infiltration. While videos circulated online during the 12-day conflict showed repeated missile impacts in the region, it has only recently emerged that one of the strikes targeted a high-level security meeting.
Israel has not commented on the claims, and the details have not been independently confirmed. The council involved in the incident is Iran’s highest security body, second only to the authority of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
