Four Countries Brokering Iran–US Talks Amid Escalating War
Amid the rapidly intensifying conflict in the Middle East, several regional powers are quietly attempting to broker a diplomatic path between Iran and the United States.
Officials from Oman, Egypt, Pakistan, and Turkey have reportedly initiated behind-the-scenes discussions with senior Iranian leaders, urging Tehran to consider negotiations with the administration of US President Donald Trump.
The diplomatic push comes as military tensions continue to rise across the region following sustained airstrikes and missile attacks involving Iran, Israel, and US forces.
Quiet Diplomacy Underway
According to a report by the The Jerusalem Post, senior representatives from the four regional countries are working discreetly with Iranian officials to persuade Tehran to open talks with Washington.
The goal of these discussions is to explore the possibility of a ceasefire or a broader political agreement that could help de-escalate the ongoing conflict.
Sources familiar with the negotiations said the mediating countries believe dialogue between Iran and the United States remains the most viable route to prevent further regional destabilization.
Iran Maintains Hardline Position
Despite the diplomatic pressure, Iranian authorities have so far refused to begin negotiations with the United States. According to sources cited in the report,
Tehran continues to adopt a firm stance and has outlined a set of preliminary conditions that would need to be met before any talks could begin.
Iranian leaders insist that any potential agreement must address several key demands, including recognition of Iran’s sovereign rights and guarantees against future military actions.
Tehran Lists Conditions for Possible Deal
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated Tehran’s position following a recent conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Writing on social media platform X, Pezeshkian said Iran would only consider a deal if certain conditions were fulfilled.
These conditions include international recognition of Iran’s “legitimate rights,” compensation for damages caused by recent military strikes, and strong global guarantees preventing further aggression against the country.
War Continues to Intensify
The diplomatic efforts are unfolding as fighting between Iran and US-Israeli forces intensifies across the Middle East. Airstrikes have targeted Iranian military infrastructure, while Tehran has responded with missile and drone attacks across the region.
Analysts warn that without a diplomatic breakthrough, the conflict could escalate further, threatening regional stability, global energy supplies, and international security.
