Cycling Competition Held in Satkhira to Celebrate Youth Festival 2025

A cycling competition was organized in Satkhira on Sunday (February 9) as part of the Youth Festival 2025.
The event was arranged by the District Administration and the District Sports Office, with financial support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The competition was inaugurated by the chief guest, Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mostak Ahmed. Cyclists from various professions participated in the 12-kilometer race, which started from Satkhira Stadium, passed through the city’s bypass road and Satkhira Medical College, and concluded at the designated finish line near Khulna Road Mor.
Following the competition, prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners at Satkhira Stadium by the Deputy Commissioner.
The event was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bishnupada Pal, while District Sports Officer Md. Mahbubur Rahman delivered the welcome speech.
Also present at the event were Mohini Tabassum, spokesperson of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement; members of the ad hoc committee of the District Sports Association, Tayeb Hasan Shamsuzzaman Babu and Mofassinul Islam Topu; journalist Zillur Rahman; and Medical Officer of Satkhira Civil Surgeon’s Office, Jayanta Sarkar. The entire program was conducted by commentator Aliul Islam.
In his speech, Deputy Commissioner Mostak Ahmed emphasized the importance of ethics in achieving success, stating that sports play a vital role in maintaining a healthy and active life.
He also highlighted the significant contribution of youth in nation-building.
