BGB Fully Ready for 13th National Election- ১৩তম জাতীয় নির্বাচন ঘিরে বিজিবি সম্পূর্ণ প্রস্তুত
Dinajpur: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is fully prepared to handle any situation that may arise during the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, said Colonel Faisal Hasan Khan (BGBM, psc), Dinajpur Sadar Sector Commander and Additional Director General.
He stated that a special preparedness drill was recently conducted in the presence of the Chief Election Commissioner to strengthen response capabilities for any election-related scenario.
BGB teams have also been inspecting polling centres and conducting various activities, including mock exercises, to ensure a peaceful voting environment.
“We are confident that the national election will be held smoothly,” he said.
Colonel Faisal Hasan Khan made the remarks on Saturday morning while distributing winter clothes among distressed and cold-affected residents at Meragaon Government Primary School ground under Dharmapur Union in Biral Upazila. Warm clothes were also distributed among children, and essential medical services were provided to local villagers.
He added that, considering the current national context, BGB has intensified operations across border regions. Patrol activities have been strengthened to ensure the security and wellbeing of border communities.
“Besides maintaining border security, we are committed to supporting underprivileged people through winter clothing distribution and medical assistance,” he said.
Earlier in the day, the winter fog had not fully cleared over Meragaon—a village situated near the Dinajpur border. Cold-stricken residents gathered in the schoolyard, shivering in the early winter chill. At that moment, BGB extended warmth and compassion, bringing relief to the villagers. Smiles lit up the faces of those who received assistance.
In total, 300 distressed people received blankets, 100 children received warm clothing, and more than 500 villagers received free medical services, including medicines and consultations.
Among those present at the event were Lt. Colonel Abdullah Al-Moeen, Commanding Officer of the 42 BGB Battalion; Golam Nabi Dulal, General Secretary of Dinajpur Press Club; journalists from various media outlets; and respected local dignitaries.

দিনাজপুর: আগামী ১৩তম জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনকে সামনে রেখে সম্ভাব্য যেকোনো পরিস্থিতি মোকাবিলায় বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশ (বিজিবি) সম্পূর্ণ প্রস্তুত রয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন দিনাজপুর সদর সেক্টর কমান্ডার ও অতিরিক্ত মহাপরিচালক কর্নেল ফয়সাল হাসান খান (BGBM, psc)।
তিনি বলেন, নির্বাচনি পরিস্থিতি মাথায় রেখে প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনারের উপস্থিতিতে সম্প্রতি একটি বিশেষ মহড়া অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। পাশাপাশি শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচন নিশ্চিত করতে বিজিবির বিভিন্ন টিম ভোটকেন্দ্র পরিদর্শন করছে এবং মক ড্রিলসহ নানা কার্যক্রম চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে।
“আমরা আশাবাদী, জাতীয় নির্বাচন শান্তিপূর্ণভাবেই অনুষ্ঠিত হবে,” যোগ করেন তিনি।
শনিবার সকাল, বিরল উপজেলার ধর্মপুর ইউনিয়নের মেরাগাঁও সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় মাঠে অসহায় ও শীতার্ত মানুষের মাঝে শীতবস্ত্র বিতরণের সময় তিনি এসব কথা বলেন। শিশুদের জন্যও শীতবস্ত্র বিতরণ করা হয় এবং স্থানীয় বাসিন্দাদের বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা সেবা প্রদান করা হয়।
তিনি আরও বলেন, দেশের বর্তমান সামগ্রিক প্রেক্ষাপট বিবেচনায় সীমান্ত অঞ্চলে বিজিবির কর্মকাণ্ড জোরদার করা হয়েছে। সীমান্তবাসীর নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে টহল কার্যক্রম আরও শক্তিশালী করা হয়েছে।
“সীমান্ত নিরাপত্তা রক্ষার পাশাপাশি আমরা হতদরিদ্র মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়াতেও বদ্ধপরিকর,” উল্লেখ করেন কর্নেল ফয়সাল।
দিনের শুরুর দিকে সীমান্তঘেঁষা মেরাগাঁও গ্রামে কুয়াশা পুরোপুরি কাটেনি। শীতার্ত মানুষ স্কুলের মাঠে এসে জড়ো হন। ঠিক সে সময় বিজিবি তাদের পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে উষ্ণতা ও মানবিকতার হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয়। সহায়তা পেয়ে মুখে ফুটে ওঠে স্বস্তির হাসি।
মোট ৩০০ জন অসহায় মানুষের মাঝে কম্বল, ১০০ শিশুর মাঝে শীতবস্ত্র এবং ৫০০-এর বেশি মানুষের মাঝে বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা সেবা, ওষুধ ও পরামর্শ প্রদান করা হয়।
