4 Killed in Russian Strike on Kursk School, Claims Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Moscow of bombing a boarding school in the Russian-controlled town of Sudzha, Kursk region, where civilians were sheltering and preparing to evacuate.
According to Ukraine’s military, the attack killed four people and injured dozens, many of them elderly.
More than 80 civilians were reportedly rescued from the site. Kyiv claims the strike was deliberate, involving a guided aerial bomb, though independent verification remains unavailable.
Zelensky condemned the attack, calling Russia “a state devoid of civility.” He compared it to Russia’s past military actions in Chechnya and Syria, stating that Moscow continues to target civilians in Ukraine.
Russia, however, has denied responsibility, instead accusing Ukraine of launching a missile strike on the building.
Ukraine had briefly seized parts of the Kursk region last August but stated its objective was not to retain control but to use the incursion as leverage in future negotiations.
