Twenty-seven years after the release of the iconic film ‘Hothat Brishti’, a remake titled ‘Abar Hothat Brishti’ is being produced with a fresh cast.
The original film, released in 1998 as a Bangladesh-India joint venture, gained massive popularity and was first premiered on television before hitting cinema halls due to high public demand. It also marked the silver screen debut of popular Bangladeshi actor Ferdous Ahmed and Tollywood actress Priyanka Tribedi, who played the lead roles of Ajit and Dipa.
In the new version, actors Sadi Khan and Rafida will step into the lead roles, replacing Ferdous and Priyanka. The film will also feature Azad Abul Kalam, Farzana Chobi and Kayes Arju in supporting roles.
The inauguration ceremony of ‘Abar Hothat Brishti’ was held on Monday (May 26) at Ananda Bari in Uttara, Dhaka. Shooting began on the same day, and the remaining scenes will be filmed in Srimangal and other picturesque locations across the country.
