New Political Party Launched Under the Leadership of Ilias Kanchan

A new political party named ‘Janata Party Bangladesh (JPB)’, led by renowned actor Ilias Kanchan, was officially launched on Friday (April 25).

Ilias Kanchan has been appointed as the Chairman of the party, while Shawkat Mahmud, former Vice Chairman of the BNP, has taken on the role of Secretary General.

The party's name and leadership were announced at a formal event held at Hotel Intercontinental, located in Shahbagh, Dhaka.

The official slogan of Janata Party Bangladesh is: “We Will Build Bangladesh for Justice.”

Notably, 22 new political parties have emerged in the six and a half months since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.

In this context, JPB marks its entry into the country's new and evolving political landscape starting today.
