
Martin Raiser, Vice President for South Asia at the World Bank, has arrived in Bangladesh for a four-day visit.
He landed in Dhaka on Saturday, February 8.
According to a press release, during his visit, Raiser will hold meetings with key government officials, including the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed, Energy Advisor M. Fawzul Kabir Khan, Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H. Mansur, senior government officials, and representatives from civil society and the private sector.
Accompanying Raiser on the visit is Pablo Svedra, Vice President for Prosperity at the World Bank.
Since Bangladesh's independence, the World Bank has been a key partner in the country's development. To date, the World Bank has pledged $44 billion in financial support to Bangladesh.
