Trump Imposes 25% Tariff on All Steel and Aluminum Imports

President Donald Trump has announced a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports, significantly expanding existing trade restrictions.
This move, which will raise the costs of bringing these metals into the U.S., comes despite warnings from political leaders in Canada—America's largest supplier of these materials—and other countries about possible retaliation.
U.S. businesses that rely on these imports have expressed concern over the potential impact, but Trump maintains that the new tariffs will help boost domestic production.
The tariffs are set to take effect on March 4, with Trump emphasizing that there will be no exceptions, and the process will be "simplified."
As the world’s largest importer of steel, the U.S. sources most of its steel from countries like Canada, Brazil, and Mexico. Canada, in particular, supplies more than half of the aluminum imported into the U.S. annually, and these tariffs are expected to have the most significant impact on Canada.
