Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Incorporated has started recruiting employees as part of its efforts to enter the Indian market.
The announcement comes shortly after the meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is a close ally of former U.S. President Donald Trump and one of the world's richest individuals.
According to NDTV, on Monday (February 17), Tesla posted a job advertisement on its LinkedIn page. The company is hiring for 13 positions, including roles related to customer engagement and back-end operations.
In a significant move, the Indian government has reduced the import duty on vehicles priced above $40,000 from 110% to 70%. This reduction in import duties has paved the way for Tesla’s entry into the Indian market.
