
Dhaka | 22 July 2025: The Supreme Court of Bangladesh and subordinate courts have mourned the deaths and injuries of schoolchildren, teacher and pilot due to recent jet crash.
Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed issued various steps in mourning of catastrophe caused by crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka.
The disaster, which occurred on Monday (21 July), claimed the lives of numerous students and injured many others.
In honour of the victims, the CJ ordered the national flag to be flown at half-mast at the Supreme Court premises and all subordinate courts across the country on Tuesday (22 July). Additionally, a one-minute silence was observed before the start of court proceedings in every courtroom of the Appellate Division, High Court Division, and all lower courts nationwide.
The Supreme Court has also imposed a temporary ban on holding any cultural events in the country’s higher and subordinate judiciary for the next three days as a mark of respect for the deceased.
