The Saudi Arabian government has set the minimum age limit of 15 years for individuals wishing to perform Hajj this year.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced this decision in a notice, citing the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on Wednesday (March 12).
According to the notice, signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mamun Al Faruk, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has decided that the minimum age for performing Hajj in the 2025 season will be 15 years, based on the birthdate on the pilgrim's passport. This directive must be followed by both government and private Hajj travelers, Hajj agencies, and banks involved in Hajj activities. The decision is made considering the health and safety of children.
A registered child pilgrim of 15 years old and, where applicable, the guardian accompanying the child pilgrim, can be replaced with a pre-registered pilgrim instead of the original Hajj traveler.
