Escaped Lioness Safely Returned to Enclosure at National Zoo- জাতীয় চিড়িয়াখানায় খাঁচা ছাড়া সিংহী ২.৫ ঘণ্টা পর নিরাপদে আটক

Bangladesh: A lioness that wandered out of its enclosure at the National Zoo in Dhaka on Friday afternoon was safely brought back after an effort lasting nearly two and a half hours, according to a statement from the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Zoo authorities immediately strengthened security measures and moved visitors to safe locations while activating their emergency response protocol.

A specially trained animal-management team tranquilized the lioness and successfully guided her back into the enclosure after almost an hour of coordinated work. Officials confirmed that the animal is in good physical condition and is currently under close observation by a veterinary team.

To determine how the lioness managed to leave her enclosure, the Department of Livestock Services has formed a two-member inquiry committee headed by Dr. Md Bayzer Rahman, Director (Administration). The second member is Deputy Director (Farm) Md Shariful Haque. The committee has been instructed to submit its findings within three days to the Director General of the department, Dr. Md Abu Sufiun.

Expressing gratitude for the cooperation of visitors and the media, zoo authorities said additional safety measures will be enforced. 

They also assured the public that the zoo remains completely safe and that all regular activities are continuing without interruption.
