
Bangladesh Railway has begun selling advance train tickets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, assuming June 7 as the likely day of the festival. As part of the preparations for the mass holiday travel, tickets for June 1 journeys have gone on sale today.
To ensure smooth service for travelers, all tickets are being sold exclusively online.
According to the schedule, ticket sales for trains operating under the Western Zone of Bangladesh Railway started at 8:00 AM on Thursday (May 22), while tickets for the Eastern Zone trains are available from 2:00 PM the same day.
This ticketing phase includes intercity trains departing from Dhaka to various destinations across the country, with a total of 33,315 seats allocated for June 1.
Bangladesh Railway’s special Eid operation plan reveals the following advance ticket sale dates:
Tickets for May 31 were sold on May 21
Tickets for June 2 will be sold on May 23
Tickets for June 3 will be sold on May 24
Tickets for June 4 will be sold on May 25
Tickets for June 5 will be sold on May 26
Tickets for June 6 will be sold on May 27
The railway authorities are expecting a significant surge in passengers during this holiday period and have prepared accordingly to manage the demand.
