10 Bangladeshis Die in Mediterranean Boat Tragedy While Heading to Italy, 4 Still Missing

Ten Bangladeshis from Madaripur lost their lives in a boat capsizing off the coast of Libya while trying to reach Italy, with four others still unaccounted for.
The bodies were recovered near the Libyan coast on January 30. Four others are still missing.
The victims were all from Rajair upazila in Madaripur, and their families are devastated by the loss. Locals are demanding severe punishment for the human traffickers involved in this illegal migration attempt.
The deceased are Roman (Titu Hossain), son of Hasan Hawlader from West Swarmangal, Rajair, Abul Bashar Akon, son of Akkas Ali Akon from Gobindpur, Nil Ratan Baroi, Sagar Baroi, Sagar Bishwas from Sundikuri, Insan Sheikh, Ashish Kirtaniya from Gobindpur, Amal Kirtaniya, son of Nripen Kirtaniya, Anup Sardar from Boulgram, Sajib Molla from Shakharpar, Rajib from Satbariya and Sujan Hawlader from Mujundarkandi.
All the victims were aged between 20 and 40 years. The missing individuals include Nipun Kirtaniya (22), son of Open Kirtaniya; Kuddus Bepari (33), son of Atahar Bepari; Ahidul Hawlader (25), son of Mannan Hawlader and Maruf Bepari (16), son of Israfel Bepari.
