Dhaka, April 18: The growing popularity of street food in Dhaka has taken a flavorful turn near the Bashundhara Residential Area Gate, where a modest night food stall has been drawing a steady crowd of late-night diners.
Run by Abul Kashem, the street food stall opens only at night and remains active until midnight. Despite its humble setup, the stall sees around 100 customers daily, according to Kashem.
“I don’t operate during the day. I come at night and serve food till midnight. On average, I make about Tk 3,000 to 4,000 each night,” said Kashem while speaking to The Reporter 24.
The shop’s growing popularity is attributed to its simple but tasty meals, served at a pocket-friendly price—something that has made it especially appealing to students, rickshaw-pullers, and night shift workers in the area.
“I often come here after work,” said Mamun Hossain, a college student who lives nearby. “Where else can you get a hot, satisfying meal at this price? It’s clean, tasty, and doesn’t empty your wallet. This place feels like a blessing for people like us.”
The night street food scene continues to grow across Dhaka, offering a glimpse into the evolving urban food culture where affordability meets flavor under the open sky.
