Shakib Al Hasan Joins Antigua and Barbuda Falcons for CPL 2025

Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to make his return to the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in 2025, having been signed by the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons during the player draft held on June 18.
This marks a comeback to the CPL for Shakib, who last appeared in the tournament back in 2022 with the Guyana Amazon Warriors. During that stint, he played six matches, scored 94 runs, and took 8 wickets.
Throughout his CPL career, Shakib has also represented the Barbados Tridents and Jamaica Tallawahs. In total, he has featured in 36 CPL matches, scoring 448 runs at an average of 16.59 and a strike rate of 109.53.
With the ball, he has taken 37 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.82. One of his standout performances came in 2013 when he claimed 6 wickets for just 6 runs while playing for Barbados.
Speaking about his upcoming season, Shakib shared his enthusiasm: “I’m excited to be part of the CPL again. I’ve had some wonderful moments in this league—winning a title, playing in a final—and I’m thrilled to be joining the Falcons this year.”
He also emphasized the importance of spin bowling in the CPL, saying, “Spinners have consistently made a big impact in this tournament. With two quality spinners in our lineup, I believe the Falcons have a strong edge. It’s a highly competitive league, with every team capable of winning the title, but I have full faith in our squad and I’m eager to contribute to our success.”
