PSL Relocated to UAE for Player Safety Amid Indo-Pak Conflict

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has officially been moved to the United Arab Emirates, as escalating tensions between India and Pakistan prompted organizers to prioritize the safety and mental well-being of players.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the remaining eight matches of the league, originally scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore, will now be held in the UAE.
The shift follows the abrupt postponement of Thursday’s fixture between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings in Rawalpindi due to rising border hostilities.
In response, the PCB, in consultation with PSL franchises and stakeholders, opted for the relocation to avoid further disruptions.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the board’s commitment to the welfare of players, stating, “Our priority is the mental health and safety of all participants. This move reflects our responsibility towards the league’s integrity and the well-being of those involved.”
He further called for continued support from fans and partners, assuring that the PSL will maintain its momentum despite the change in venue. A revised schedule for the final stages of the tournament is expected to be released shortly.
