KIA Captures Another Junta Stronghold in Myanmar

In Myanmar, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and its allies have captured the junta's "Infantry Battalion 236" stronghold located in Bhamo, Kachin State.
According to a report from the local news outlet Irrawaddy on Thursday (February 20), the base fell on Tuesday. Intense fighting is now ongoing as rebel forces battle to retake "Artillery Battalion 366," which was initially seized earlier this month by the KIA and its allies. The junta forces, however, managed to briefly regain control, forcing the insurgents to retreat in the days that followed.
Despite this, the rebel groups succeeded in regaining control of most of the infantry base on Tuesday. Currently, the insurgents are launching fierce attacks against the junta's "Military Operations Command 21" (MOC-21), with the junta forces offering strong resistance in return.
