First RUET Planners' Reunion and Planning Carnival Inaugurated

The first two-day Planners' Reunion and Planning Carnival-2025, featuring teachers, alumni, and students of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), was inaugurated at the RUET campus Thursday morning.
The event, organized by the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, began with a colorful rally led by RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Abdur Razzak.
The rally paraded through various campus roads and concluded at the foot of the RUET Central Shahid Minar. Following the rally, the Vice-Chancellor formally inaugurated the two-day event by releasing balloons and festoons. He also unveiled the cover of the book titled 'Nagorkothon 3.0' during the ceremony.
After the inaugural session, a function and discussion meeting was held at the central auditorium of RUET.
Speaking as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Abdur Razzak highlighted that the first URP Planners' Reunion and Planning Carnival would raise awareness about urban planning, foster professional relationships, and nurture creativity among participating students.
The function was presided over by Professor Dr. Most. Ilme Faridatul and addressed by several distinguished speakers, including ZHM Monjur Morshed, Deputy Director (Admin.) of the Students' Welfare Department; Shuvo Kanti Poddar, President of the Association of RUET Planners Alumni; Fahim Abedin, Member of the Bangladesh Institute of Planners; as well as Deans of all faculties, Directors, Departmental Heads, and other heads of various offices at RUET.
