Out of 50,000 foreign nationals illegally staying in Bangladesh, 15,618 have left the country by January, following a government order issued last December.
However, 33,648 illegal foreign nationals are still residing in the country. To address this issue, the Ministry of Home Affairs has formed an 11-member task force to determine the necessary actions.
The task force will be led by the Additional Secretary of the Security Services Division (Security and Immigration), with the Joint Secretary of the Immigration-2 Division serving as the committee’s secretary.
